Apollo Tyres appoints Rajeev Kumar Sinha as Chief Manufacturing Officer

Apollo Tyres Ltd has announced the appointment of Rajeev Kumar Sinha as its new Chief Manufacturing Officer. Sinha will be responsible for leading the tyre manufacturer’s global manufacturing strategy, with a focus on performance optimisation, plant management and the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).

In his new role, Sinha will oversee the company's manufacturing agenda across all locations, covering strategy and planning, integrated manufacturing services, corporate industrial engineering, and the roll-out of advanced manufacturing systems.

Neeraj Kanwar, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Apollo Tyres Ltd, commented on the appointment: “Rajeev is a Global Manufacturing Leader who comes with over 35-years of rich experience in Operations and Supply Chain domain across diverse industries such as Chemical, FMCG, Foods & Beverages and Pharmaceuticals. He will play a critical role not only in our growth journey, but also in maintaining our competitive advantage. He joins us as a key member of the Global Executive Committee.”

Sinha joins Apollo Tyres from pharmaceutical company Cipla, where he held the position of Global Chief Manufacturing Officer. He was also a member of Cipla’s Management Council and served as a Non-Executive Director in select group companies.

During his career, Sinha has played a key role in driving operational excellence, with a particular focus on network optimisation and the application of Lean Six Sigma methodologies. His experience also includes developing manufacturing science and technology capabilities to improve product and process robustness.

Sinha will be based at Apollo Tyres’ corporate headquarters in Gurugram, India, and will report directly to Neeraj Kanwar.

I look forward to steering innovations, especially pertaining to AI/ML solutions, and Industry 4.0 and 5.0, driving the manufacturing agenda of the organisation.”
