Continental has introduced ContiGuarantee for eligible new CrossTrac construction truck tyres in the UK and Ireland, offering reimbursement for qualifying irreparable damage, subject to registration, tyre condition and claim assessment.

The voluntary programme is free and available to original commercial end users with a UK or Ireland office or branch. Purchases must be made in those markets through a dealer or Continental’s direct channel. Participation is non-transferable.

What Operators Need to Know

Operators must register each tyre’s serial number within 14 days of purchase and upload purchase evidence. Dealers and service providers cannot participate on their behalf.

The published terms describe eligibility for 19.5–22.5-inch CrossTrac tyres, excluding ContiRe, ContiTread and sensor-equipped iTyre variants. However, the guide’s reimbursement schedule lists only 22.5-inch products, leaving the wider scope requiring confirmation.

Qualifying damage includes irreparable operational impacts, cuts and punctures. Vandalism claims require police documentation. Exclusions include poor maintenance, incorrect pressure, overloading, unsuitable use and incorrect fitting, repair or regrooving. Recovery, replacement service costs, balancing, downtime and vehicle damage are also excluded. Manufacturing defects follow a separate warranty process.

Reimbursement uses Continental’s reference price rather than the operator’s invoice price. The written percentage bands specify 100% with at least 90% of original tread remaining, 75% below 90% but at least 50%, and nothing below 50%. However, the guide’s millimetre table does not consistently match those boundaries.

Claims must be submitted online within 30 days of damage and no later than one year after purchase. Another clause refers to 12 months from registration, so operators should not assume registration extends that deadline.

Evidence includes an invoice, damage description and at least three photographs showing damage, serial number and the lowest remaining tread measurement. Operators must retain the casing pending acceptance. Inspection returns are customer-funded, and claims are limited to 24 tyres annually.

For dealers, the purchase conversation should cover registration responsibility, product eligibility, tyre-age limits and reimbursement. Continental’s published documents require clarification before exact payouts or a full protection period can be promised.
