Thinkcar UK has appointed Garry Phillips as Southern Regional Manager to bolster its distributor and garage support network, with a focus on expanding access to its diagnostic tools and EV-ready workshop equipment.
In his new role, Garry Phillips will cover southern England and Wales, working with Thinkcar UK's distributor partners and business development managers. He will focus on expanding the company's market presence and supporting workshops as they adapt to emerging vehicle technologies.
Phillips brings over three decades of experience in automotive diagnostics and air conditioning. His career has included developing industry-recognised IMI qualifications and delivering practical training across the UK.
Phillips' background in advanced HVAC and heavy-duty diagnostics aligns with Thinkcar UK's growing emphasis on electric vehicle technology. His appointment supports the company’s goal of helping workshops transition to servicing next-generation vehicles.
Alex Gillbanks, Managing Director of Thinkcar UK, commented: “Garry’s technical expertise and passion for education make him a valuable addition to our expanding team. He joins at a pivotal moment as we scale our support network to meet rising demand.”
As more workshops prepare for the electrification of the vehicle parc, diagnostic technology is becoming central to service readiness. Thinkcar UK’s investment in regional technical support reflects the growing need for hands-on guidance and upskilling in EV diagnostics. Strategic appointments like this underline the sector’s shift toward future-focused aftermarket solutions.
