Trelleborg has introduced the EXC900, a new excavator tyre developed for construction applications requiring a wider, single fitment. Designed as an alternative to dual assemblies, the EXC900 provides a broad footprint and helps reduce debris build-up between tyres, n issue often reported with twin-fit set-ups.
The EXC900 tyre is aimed at users who prefer a ‘super single’ solution over traditional dual-tyre configurations. This approach eliminates the gap where rocks and debris can lodge, while offering a wide contact area to support machine stability and traction.
Although Trelleborg already supplies both solid and pneumatic dual tyre options for excavators, the company identified demand from both OEMs and aftermarket customers for a simplified alternative.
The launch is further supported by production capabilities at Trelleborg’s UK-based wheel manufacturing facility. This allows the company to deliver complete tyre-and-wheel assemblies tailored to specific machine fitments—improving supply chain responsiveness for both manufacturers and end users.
The EXC900 is now available through Trelleborg's construction tyre distribution channels.
The growing demand for single-fitment tyres on excavators reflects a broader trend in construction equipment: reducing maintenance complexity while enhancing site resilience. As OEMs and contractors look for time-saving tyre solutions, products like the EXC900 address key operational pain points without compromising machine performance. Tyre manufacturers able to integrate tyre and wheel supply also stand to gain from tighter alignment with OEM assembly lines and faster field support.
