Kerr’s Tyres & Auto has acquired Ballymoney Tyre Centre in Co Antrim, formerly owned by the late Samuel “Bo” McKay. The move takes Kerr’s Tyres Group to 28 points of sale and supports its stated aim of reaching 35 locations by 2026.
The family-run operator says the site will help maintain service continuity for local customers while broadening regional coverage across Northern Ireland.
Kerr’s Tyres acquisition includes the Ballymoney Tyre Centre operation and brand transition into the Group’s retail and commercial network. Norman Kerr said: “despite our size we are still a family run business and are delighted to acquire Ballymoney Tyre Centre from the McKay family who have operated in the town for fifteen years with dedication and commitment to serving the community. We recognise the legacy Bo has left behind and we are committed to upholding the high standards and value that he instilled in the business.”
Kerr’s Tyres & Auto operates a 24-hour, 365-day mobile tyre service alongside its centre network, supporting both retail and commercial customers across Ireland. The company began trading in 2002 with a staff of three and has grown steadily since. kerrstyres.co.uk
