Apollo Tyres deepens Hungarian market play with renewed DVTK deal.

Apollo Tyres has signed a fresh one-year agreement with northern Hungary’s leading multi-sports club, Diósgyőri VTK (DVTK). Now entering its eighth consecutive season, the deal secures prime branding rights across football, basketball and other disciplines, while expanding support into women’s and youth football. The move underlines Apollo’s strategy of building market share through community-based sports partnerships in Hungary.

What the renewed deal covers

High-visibility branding stays in place

Under the extension, Apollo Tyres’ logo will keep its pitch-side, digital and on-kit presence during official match windows across DVTK’s sports portfolio. The arrangement maintains year-round exposure to the club’s sizable fan base and strengthens recall among Hungarian consumers and trade partners.

Grassroots investment widens scope

A new element of the agreement funds women’s and youth football in the region. By underwriting coaching, equipment and competition costs, Apollo aims to foster talent pipelines and support gender equity at community level.

Quotes from both parties

“This partnership reflects our strategic vision to connect with communities through shared passion points like sports,” said Luiz Fernandez, Unit Head, Hungary Plant, Apollo Tyres Ltd. “DVTK’s legacy offers a powerful platform to enhance our brand awareness among consumers, business partners and stakeholders in Hungary.”

Gergely Sántha, President of DVTK, added: “Taking this partnership to its eighth consecutive season is quite unique – and a very proud moment for all of us involved.”

Why it matters for the tyre sector

  • Market penetration: Local sports sponsorship enables tyre makers to boost brand trust without heavy above-the-line spend.
  • Community credentials: Funding grassroots football aligns with wider ESG expectations and helps Apollo position itself as a long-term contributor to Hungarian society.
  • Competitive landscape: Continental, Bridgestone and Hankook all run Central-European football tie-ins; Apollo’s renewal keeps it in the game.
