Cully Tyres & Autocare has reinforced its growth trajectory by appointing long-serving Cullompton mechanic Darren Holme. The high-profile hire follows two years of investment and signals the garage’s confidence in meeting surging local demand.
Holme spent the past 16 years managing a nearby Exeter Road workshop and is widely regarded in Mid-Devon’s automotive trade.
“Darren is hugely respected in Cullompton and represents one of the final pieces in our jigsaw,” said co-owner Gary Thomson. “His decision to join us speaks volumes for the progress we’ve made.”
Holme joins hands-on co-owner Scott Morgan, technician Oliver Nesbitt and mechanic Justin Dymond, expanding the team to handle more MOT, servicing and repair work.
Since new ownership in May 2022, Cully Tyres has invested £100,000 in refurbishment, diagnostic equipment and staff development. The site—formerly Marsh Tyres—now boasts fresh signage, a revamped reception and specialist Volkswagen repairs.
The garage’s expanded remit includes electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance, supported by premium Bridgestone and Firestone tyres through its First Stop partnership. Thomson added:
“We’re part of the Cullompton community and never take our customers’ trust for granted.”
