Galaxy Enters UTV and ATV Tyre Market with Two New Ranges

Galaxy has entered the utility terrain vehicle and all-terrain vehicle tyre market with two new patterns, Hulk PSX and Everest PSX. The launch extends the Yokohama-ATG-owned brand beyond its established construction, earthmoving and material handling ranges, adding products for utility work and recreational off-road use.

Two patterns for different operating demands

Hulk PSX is the more off-road-focused product within the range. Galaxy says its deep tread design and shoulder blocks support traction, cornering and handling across difficult terrain.

The radial tyre also uses reinforced sidewalls intended to resist cuts. A high tread-to-void ratio is designed to balance wear resistance with stability during mixed-speed operation.

Hulk PSX will be available for 12-inch and 14-inch rims, covering several common UTV configurations.

Everest PSX has been developed primarily for utility-focused work. Its tread has greater pattern continuity, which Galaxy says improves on-road behaviour and reduces vibration.

The tyre also targets wet-surface traction and resistance to cuts, chips and abrasions. Rim protection and puncture resistance are intended to support longer operating periods in demanding environments.

Everest PSX will be offered for 12-inch, 14-inch and 15-inch rims.

Moving into a broader specialist market

The launch takes Galaxy into a category serving agriculture, grounds maintenance, estates, construction sites and recreational users. UTVs frequently operate across mud, hard surfaces and public-road sections, placing different demands on tread stability and ride comfort.

Dyutiman Chattopadhyay, Chief Technology Officer at Yokohama-ATG, described the category entry as a step towards strengthening Galaxy’s global presence. He said the products had been developed around customer requirements for durability, reliability and performance in severe conditions.

For tyre distributors, the significance lies in the expansion of a recognised off-highway portfolio into smaller specialist fitments. Product availability, application guidance and local distribution support will determine how quickly the range gains traction in the UK and European replacement markets.

Wider investment in off-highway tyres

The move follows wider activity across Yokohama’s specialist tyre operations. Tyre News recently reported on Yokohama Rubber’s planned OTR tyre plants in India and Mexico, which will add capacity for construction, mining and agricultural machinery tyres.

Tyre News has also covered Alliance’s Agri Nova R-1 tractor tyre launch. Alliance and Galaxy both sit within Yokohama-ATG’s off-highway portfolio, although they address different machines and operating environments.

The Hulk PSX and Everest PSX therefore represent more than two additional tread patterns. They give Galaxy access to a smaller-vehicle segment where puncture resistance, surface versatility and replacement availability influence buying decisions.
