Magna Tyres has introduced the new M-TRUCK RG22, a truck tyre developed for drive axle applications in regional transport.

The RG22 is positioned as a regional truck tyre designed to deliver traction, mileage and consistent performance across varying road and weather conditions. Magna says the tyre features a tread pattern intended to support grip and water evacuation in day-to-day transport operations.

The new tyre is available in sizes 295/60R22.5 and 315/60R22.5, with 18PR and 20PR specifications.

Listed load and speed indices are 150/147K and 154/150L.

According to the published specifications, the RG22 carries a fuel efficiency rating of C, wet grip rating of B, and external noise level of 73 dB, Class A. It is also marked 3PMSF and M+S.

Magna says the tyre has been developed to support operators seeking a balance of traction, durability and mileage in regional haulage work.Relevance:

For fleets, the significance is less about headline innovation and more about fit for duty cycle. Regional work places different demands on a drive axle tyre than long-haul motorway use, particularly where vehicles face repeated braking, changing road surfaces and variable weather. Tyre News recently explored that wider operating reality in Rural Roads Generate More Tyre Stress Than City Driving, Fleet Data Reveals, which found that certain non-urban routes can create higher mechanical loads and faster wear patterns for commercial tyres.
