Prinx Chengshan has reportedly produced the first tyre at its Kedah Rubber City factory in Malaysia, reaching the milestone within its planned fourth-quarter window. Integrated commissioning is set to follow, ahead of a gradual capacity ramp-up from 2027.
Prinx Chengshan social media announcement on 9 October confirmed that the Malaysian factory had completed the manufacturing sequence from rubber mixing through to curing. The first tyre comes less than 11 months after groundbreaking on 18 November 2025.
ERJ reports that the plant will now undergo integrated commissioning to improve coordination between production units and support the capacity ramp-up. Prinx also plans to refine the product mix, with an emphasis on higher-value and technologically advanced tyres. European Rubber Journal
The reported first tyre falls within the timetable set out in Prinx Chengshan’s first-half results announcement. In August, the company said it expected the first Malaysian tyre in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by the gradual release of production capacity from 2027 onwards.
For distributors and importers, that distinction matters. Completing the manufacturing sequence is a step towards bringing the factory into operation. The company’s timetable still places the capacity ramp-up from 2027, and the sources reviewed do not establish a first commercial shipment date.
Phase I has a designed annual capacity of six million passenger and light-truck tyres and 600,000 truck and bus radial tyres. These figures describe the planned scale of the facility rather than output currently available to customers.
Prinx Chengshan’s North American business has explicitly linked the Malaysian investment to supplying customers in the United States and Canada.
Its groundbreaking announcement identified support for the Prinx and Fortune brands, with separate passenger/light-truck and truck/bus radial production facilities. That establishes an intended customer base, although it does not specify which destinations will receive the first shipments. Prinx Tire USA
TNM previously covered the Kedah project’s groundbreaking and examined new regional capacity in its ASEAN manufacturing analysis. This latest development advances the project’s manufacturing timetable. Confirmation of commercial dispatches, initial products and destination markets will show when that progress translates into additional supply for customers.

I’m watching when this milestone translates into tyres available to order. Prinx Chengshan’s guidance puts the capacity ramp-up from 2027, so the next useful detail for distributors is the timing and product mix of the first commercial shipments.
