TMT Tyres has secured tyre fitting and fleet support work for Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide vehicles across Cornwall through Nationwide Fleet Services. The appointment gives the Cornwall and Devon mobile tyre fitting business a higher-profile role in regional fleet support, where emergency response, roadside fitting and local coverage are central to keeping delivery vehicles operating.

A regional fleet support gain

The Cornwall and Devon mobile tyre fitting business said the work marks a significant step in its development. The arrangement will see TMT Tyres provide tyre fitting and fleet support activity for Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide across Cornwall through Nationwide Fleet Services.

For the tyre trade, the relevance lies in the growing importance of dependable mobile support for fleet operators. Delivery and parcel vehicles depend on uptime, especially in rural and coastal areas where depot access and journey times can affect service continuity.

Thomas Taylor, owner of TMT Tyres, said the appointment was “another huge step forward” for the business and a proud moment for the team. He added that the company’s goal had been to build “Cornwall’s most trusted and reliable mobile tyre fitting service”.

Why local coverage matters

Mobile tyre fitting has become an increasingly important part of fleet service provision. Operators running vans and mixed commercial fleets need fast roadside and site-based support to reduce downtime and keep vehicles available.

TMT Tyres’ own service information says the business provides 24-hour emergency tyre fitting and repair across Cornwall and Devon. It also offers same-day and emergency bookings for cars and vans, with fitting available at home, work or roadside. The company lists coverage across towns including Truro, St Austell, Wadebridge, Liskeard, Falmouth, Helston, Redruth, Padstow and Newquay, and says it aims to reach most locations in Cornwall and Devon within 60–90 minutes for emergency call-outs.

That local footprint helps explain the relevance of the Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide work. Delivery fleets depend on fast response and predictable support, especially in rural and coastal areas where distance can affect vehicle downtime.

A step up for TMT Tyres

The company says it will continue serving private customers, commercial fleets and national operators across Cornwall. Taylor thanked customers, partners and supporters who had backed the business as it expanded.

The contract route through Nationwide Fleet Services also shows how independent mobile tyre businesses can plug into larger fleet support frameworks. For local operators, such agreements can provide access to national-account work while retaining the regional knowledge needed for rapid response.
