Triangle Tyre has named Federico Parmesan as its European off-the-road (OTR) technical manager, effective 1 March, as the manufacturer continues to build out its specialist infrastructure across the continent.

Parmesan will report to Luca Mai, OTR director Europe, and will cover both aftermarket and original equipment (OE) activity. His remit includes tyre performance monitoring, field application support, and portfolio development across Triangle's OTR range, working directly with national distribution partners and helping to establish new strategic relationships in the region.

In practical terms, the role bridges on-site operations and product decisions, providing fitment advice and guidance on operating policy for end users in quarrying, mining, ports, and heavy industrial applications.

Why the Appointment Matters for the Trade

For OTR wholesalers and specialist dealers, dedicated technical coverage can be the difference between a sustained supply programme and a one-off transaction. Prompt diagnosis of wear patterns, heat management problems, and application mismatches helps protect casing value and limits costly downtime claims, areas where Triangle is clearly looking to add weight.

The appointment builds on Triangle's recent moves to deepen its European OTR presence. In the UK, the company shifted its aftermarket distribution to Vaculug, signalling a more focused approach to the sector. Triangle has also been advancing connected and performance-led OTR propositions across Europe, including a tyre monitoring system demonstrated at Bauma.

Background and Priorities

Parmesan is based in Italy and brings more than 30 years of experience in the tyre industry. He has held roles at Marangoni with a focus on earthmover applications, a segment where operating conditions and customer requirements can vary considerably from one site to the next.

Commenting on the appointment, Luca Mai said: "Strengthening our technical structure in Europe is a key step in supporting our partners and further consolidating our position in the OTR segment."

Parmesan described himself as joining "a very dynamic and successful European team", adding that his goal is to support dealers and end users across Europe as Triangle continues to grow the brand.
