Explosion at Continental Building in Hannover Injures One Person

An explosion at a Continental facility in Hannover, Germany, occurred on Thursday morning, 6th March 2025, causing two minor injuries and prompting a significant emergency response. The blast happened around 10:00 a.m. local time when a heating boiler exploded on the sixth floor of the building.

The explosion led to part of the roof catching fire and shattered windows, with glass shards scattered onto the street below. Five additional individuals underwent medical assessments, though their injuries were not severe.

Firefighters quickly responded, closing off the affected street and initially preparing for a 'mass casualty incident.' Nearby residents reported hearing a loud bang, adding to the alarm.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, with no indications of criminal activity. The incident occurred at a facility operated by Continental, a prominent German tyre and auto parts manufacturer.

A Continental spokesperson confirmed that a heating boiler exploded on the sixth floor of the company's building in Hannover at around 10:00 a.m. local time on March 6, 2025. Stated that one person was slightly injured in the explosion, and six other people were examined by the company medical service.

The company reported that a small fire broke out on part of the roof following the explosion, but it was quickly extinguished
