First Stop Signs National Wholesale Agreement with Bond

First Stop has signed its first national wholesale agreement with Bond International, replacing the informal regional arrangements previously used by its UK network. The company says the deal responds to dealer requests for more consistent access to tyre brands across the country.

The agreement gives First Stop’s independent garage members access to Bond’s national distribution network. First Stop says it will offer a broader choice of brands and a more consistent wholesale proposition, regardless of where a member is based.

First Stop reports that its UK network has grown from 166 members to 218 over the past year, an increase of 52, or around 31%.

Shaun Sweeney, Franchise Operations Manager UK & Ireland at First Stop, said the wholesale agreement followed feedback from dealers. “Having a national wholesale agreement with Bond gives our partners greater choice, improved availability and access to more brands, wherever they are in the country,” he said.

Charlie Bond, CEO of Bond International, said the wholesaler had invested in its distribution network to serve businesses throughout the UK. Bond stated that it holds a stock of 2.3 million tyres, although the announcement did not specify how that figure is measured.

First Stop also says it is finalising a revised support package for 2027, with a greater emphasis on digital tools and services for network members. It has not yet detailed the package or given a launch date.

The companies have not stated when the wholesale agreement takes effect, whether it is exclusive, or whether First Stop members can continue buying from other suppliers.
