Day 1 of LAMMA 2025 saw an unprecedented number of visitors flood the NEC, marking a record-breaking start for the UK's premier agricultural event. With over 600 exhibitors and a host of new features, including the FG Live Theatre, attendees were treated to an engaging mix of discussions, seminars, and cutting-edge innovations.

A Packed Programme of Highlights

The opening day featured prominent speakers and inspiring discussions aimed at tackling the most pressing issues in agriculture. Among the highlights:

Tom Bradshaw’s Call to Action
Tom Bradshaw kicked off the show with an impassioned talk on “Stop the Family Farm Tax”. In his address, Bradshaw underlined the risks posed by government policies to the farming sector, emphasising, “They (the government) have underestimated the role that a thriving food and farming industry can have on our economy.”
A Career for All in Agriculture
A diverse panel discussion at FG Live featured industry figures including Emily Ashworth, Charlotte Ashley, Claire Mackenzie, Jackie Hough, Olivia Shave, and Kaleb Cooper. Together, they explored the inclusivity of careers in farming, encouraging people from all walks of life to consider a future in agriculture.
Government Engagement
Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Victoria Atkins, attended the event. She met with exhibitors and joined a focus group with farmers to address challenges in the sector.
Young Engineer Award Winner Announced
Alexander Sluijmers, Development Engineer at Perry of Oakley, took home the coveted 2025 Young Engineer Award for his innovative Grain Sentry solution.
