New size options aim to improve grip, fuel economy, and comfort across key agri applications
Trelleborg has expanded its TM800 ProgressiveTraction® agricultural tyre range with two new sizes—600/65R28 and 710/70R38—enhancing its suitability for mid- to high-horsepower tractors operating across diverse field and transport environments.
The TM800 series now comprises six sizes, covering tractors in the 150–250 HP segment. With this broader coverage, the brand aims to offer more flexibility for farmers and contractors seeking improved durability, traction, and fuel efficiency in demanding working conditions.
At the core of the TM800 range is Trelleborg’s proprietary ProgressiveTraction® technology. The design features a distinctive double-edge lug geometry that enhances grip—providing up to 17% more traction on soft soil and a 10% boost on firmer surfaces, according to Trelleborg testing.
These improvements are designed to reduce slippage and soil compaction, contributing to better field performance and lower fuel consumption.
The tyre's compound and tread pattern aim to improve wear life and handling. Trelleborg reports up to 18% better wear resistance over standard alternatives, offering longer working hours, reduced downtime, and lower total cost of ownership.
A reinforced carcass supports stability at higher transport speeds while maintaining operator comfort—an important factor for contractors and large farms operating across extended workdays.
Alessio Bucci, Global Product Marketing Director at Trelleborg, commented on the expansion:
“With an extended range now available, the six sizes of the TM800 ProgressiveTraction® series cater to the most commonly used medium-power tractors on the market. Whether in tillage, transport or field applications, the tyres deliver optimal grip, improved self-cleaning and increased comfort, making them the perfect fit for challenging agricultural environments.”
This development reflects growing demand for high-performance agricultural tyres that support modern farming’s need for versatility, fuel efficiency, and soil protection. With tractors increasingly used for both heavy-duty field work and high-speed road transport, tyre designs must balance traction, wear resistance and operator comfort. The expanded TM800 range addresses this multi-use challenge, particularly in the mid-power sector where flexibility is key.
