Volvo has unveiled the EX30 Cross Country, an off-road-ready electric SUV designed for adventurous drivers. The Cross Country variant builds on the standard EX30 with increased ride height, front and rear skid plates, and wheelarch extensions, making it more capable on rough terrain. One of the key upgrades to the model is its Michelin all-terrain tyres, which contribute to its enhanced off-road capabilities.

Michelin Tyres: A Key Component of the EX30 Cross Country

The Michelin all-terrain tyres fitted to the EX30 Cross Country are designed to balance off-road performance with efficiency. Key features of these tyres include:

All-Terrain Capability – The 720mm all-terrain tyres provide better traction on mud, snow, and gravel, making the EX30 Cross Country more adaptable to different environments.

Optimised for Electric Vehicles – The tyres are engineered to support EV performance, helping maintain efficiency while offering rugged durability for off-road use.

Durability and Rugged Design – Complementing the 19mm raised suspension and protective skid plates, these tyres enhance the vehicle’s ability to handle uneven terrain without compromising stability.

While these tyres improve traction and off-road ability, their chunkier design slightly reduces the EX30 Cross Country’s range compared to the standard model.

Power and Performance

The Volvo EX30 Cross Country is available in multiple trims, but the 'Ultra' trim stands out with its twin-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain. Boasting 422bhp, it can accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds—one of the fastest times in its segment.

In terms of range, Volvo claims the EX30 Cross Country can cover up to 265 miles from its 69kWh battery, slightly less than the standard EX30 due to its all-terrain tyres and additional off-road modifications. Charging from 10-80% takes just 26 minutes using a fast charger, making it convenient for longer adventures.

Built for Adventure, Designed for Everyday Use

With a combination of Michelin all-terrain tyres, a raised suspension, and protective elements, the EX30 Cross Country is built for both urban and off-road driving. Whether navigating city streets or tackling rugged trails, this electric SUV is one of the most versatile EVs in its class.
